The universal story of the Seven sleepers is one which sees seven youths seeking refuge in a cave where they fall asleep, only to wake up some 300 years later. Accompanying them was a dog who kept watch and protected the people as they transcended time and space.
There are many proposed locations for this mysterious cave, one of which is within the famed Mount Qaison in Damascus, Syria. A place in which wild dogs still huddle around the alleged cave today.
